Winch Bumper.

Are choices really that slim for an "off the shelf" winch bumper for these trucks? I've got a 92, and so far I think I've found maybe 4 different kinds, and 3 of them would make Mad Max wince. One wasn't bad, but still...

I don't mind building my own, but I like to see what else is out there first. So far, the recipe I've seen says take 400#'s of plate steel, weld together, bolt on.

If you know of anything, I would certainly appreciate it.

Thanks!

KP

The best looking one I found was from Bronco Air (www.broncoair.com). Buckstop Truckware also makes a pretty good looking one. In my opinion they're all too expensive. I recently mounted a winch on my truck & kept the stock bumper. The winch is mounted behind the bumper & the fairlead is bolted to the bumper. I've got a couple of pics if you're interested.

Whatever you get, make sure it has mounts for a couple d-rings so you can use a ****** block to double your line. A good ****** block is the best recovery tool you can use.

Oh, no doubt. The bumper on my Blazer is well setup. I'm prb just going to swap the winch over from it for the time being, even though it is WAY oversized for this truck. I've never been stuck, but not for lack of trying. This truck will be work, not play, but if the trail calls, sometims you have to do what you have to do
