Ok guys I'm needing help so any idea's would be greatly appreciated. For the last week or two it seemed as if my batteries were getting weaker. I pulled up to the fuel pump and shut the truck off (shouldn't have) and when I went to start it it barely turned over the first two times I tried, and the third time it didn't even click and that is where it is now with the same symptoms even after two new batteries were installed. Please help I need to get it running.
A starter going bad will "drag" until it quits.(acting like weak batteries)
edit: turn on the lights when trying to start ,do they dim?
Another possibility - starter drive could be hung on the ring gear if the batteries were weak when trying to start.
Ultima is what I replaced it with. This same thing happened about 20,000 miles ago. (that's why I didn't think it was the starter at first) and I replaced it with an Ultima then, so all I did was walk into the parts store gave them the old one and picked up the new one and was out the door. Ultima's good about their warranty, it was no questions asked, highly recommend Ultima for elctrical!!
