Wanted - Mower Differential
If any of you are about to scrap/junk/set on fire an old riding mower that might have something along these lines:

I wouldn't mind the heads up. 3/4" or thicker axles please!
Seems they are somewhat difficult to find these days as most mowers made in the past 10 years or so use an integrated transaxle where the tranny and the open diff is in the same housing.
Thanks!

I'm making a somewhat large electric ride-on toy and was looking for a cheap or nearly free differential so that when he drives it on the lawn I don't have to follow him with grass seed ;-)
I could use anything... even a differential from a smallish car. Have lathe, have mill, can hack anything up. Just need the carrier and the four gears inside. That's the difficult piece to make ;-)
If I don't find anything I have an audi transaxle (crosses to the Porsche 944) and I can hack that up for it's differential. I was trying to avoid it because it's a large diameter unit and gross overkill. This thing's going to have 4HP of electric motor now, and when my son's older (say, 10) it will have a 18-20HP electric start mower engine. So I don't need something wild and radical.
