what size wrench?
94 - 7.3 turbo powerstroke
What size wrench is needed to get the fan clutch off? The wrench kit comes with a 40 mm and a 48 mm, the 48 mm is a hair too big. So what size is it, does anyone know?

CAUTION:
Left-hand thread.
Turn nut clockwise to loosen.
Turn nut counterclockwise to tighten.

i thought that was correct but it is only on some of these trucks.
my 94 4.9 had righty tighty/lefty loosey like most bolts.
92 5.0 had the same thing.
i know that some years have it on the fan shroud but i don't remember which years.

CAUTION:
Left-hand thread.
Turn nut clockwise to loosen.
Turn nut counterclockwise to tighten.

the 96 shop manual says right hand thread for 7.3 diesel.
my 94 4.9 was supposed to be left hand thread, but i can assure you it was right hand thread.
so, like i said, some are different.

Yes that is what the 95-96 manual says but she has a 94.
And the 1992-1994 manuals say Left-hand thread.
From the 94 manual:

like i said, i always thought so but how do you explain the 92 5.0 one owner that hat the right hand thread that i worked on?
i am just saying that they MAY have either even though the manual says one thing does not always mean it is correct.
i did look at your link and don't really need it posted twice for my benefit.

The 1992 5.0 is nothing like this setup. The 5.0 uses four bolts to hold the fan on and the wrench size for them was 7/16" and yes they were right hand threads.
My 86 BII has the type as OP has and they are Left hand threads.

it had a clutch fan that used the two wrenches to remove.
it is sold or i would take a picture.
one last time:
i am just saying that odd things are found in these vehicles and they do not always follow the manual.
that is why the service manuals have disclaimers in them.
