My 76 CC 390 has only 80k miles on it. It has the factory pipe and the ford stamped muffler. Everything is solid. I like the way they bent the pipe back then, I have never seen bends like that before. My ? is. I have a 78 460 SC that I want to cut the exaust off of and put on the 76. It has two glass packs and I like the sound. The 76 is so quiet that you can't tell if it's running at an idle.
understand that you like the way they used to bend the pipe, but why not take it to your local muffler shop and get custom pipes. if that cant be done for certain reasons then the pipes probably will not fit w/o modifications.
Thanks for the compliment peganit2. I was just curious if there was a need for the factory stuff by someone wanting to go all orig. I was going to cut the exaust out of the 78 and piece into the 76. Then put the stock muffler on the 78.
I want a little rumble when I give it gas and to releave some back pressure.
i've got true duals with glasspacks and i know the sound you want. but trust me it would be a lot easier to take it to a muffler shop. i know (i did my own exhaust work)
