64 tranny question.
I got a 64 F100 with a 292 and T-98. DOes anyone happen to know if ford painted them from the factory and if so what colour.

The engine is supposed to be black. I would assume the tranny also, but never saw it addressed.

I have seen some T98s under the grease of forty years painted with red lead. Or just plain rust.
As to the 292 semi gloss black block & heads with ford red valve covers. The Oil bath is also a semi gloss black.

Thanks, I'll go with semi-gloss black.
I gota pull it apart and re-seal it as it is starting to leak a bit out of every seal. As suuch I figured I can hose it down and paint it up.

POR has engine painting kits that are pretty awesome. The enamels are high solids and self leveling.
