I was in a guys truck toady that had a small tuner form Quadzilla. There stuff is not too expensive and they seem to offer some tuners with cool monitoring capabilites. Thoughts??
Most of the others aren't discussed to often because of the problems they have caused either with mainly headgaskets and/or blown trannys. SCT seems to be having the best success with custom tunes. Out of the box tunes also appear to create problems.
Was it a Tuner or just a display system?? I have the Commander display system. All it does is display for items at once. Boost, engine water temp, tranny oil temp, an egt's. I like it. It is small and out of the way, but very visible and easy to read. I have no idea about their tuners though. I use and SCT with Matt's tunes from Spartan.
While Quad's stuff isn't talked up here,
it used to be hot on other forums like thedieselstop and competitiondeisel
and also was hot for other vehicles (not ford) ....
And actually a lot of ford diesel guys used to run them about 5 year ago....
Not sure if they still do, ever since I got my sct haven't looked back....

I have the Commander display as well. I like it for the most part. Don't expect you coolant temps to be correct. It does provide a baseline. I had trouble with their fuel pressure kit, and had to sort it out on my own used another sender and hose and it works fine now.

Sometimes you really do get what you paid for.
For tuning, I wouldn't do anything but SCT or from Spartan(one I actually run and this new hybrid tune that Matt just sent me is the best yet).
As to monitoring capabilities nothing beats the DashDAQ for it's size, now if you want to compare laptop software to the DashDAQ then that's different, but for monitoring and wanting to keep it along the size of the Commander the DashDAQ has my vote.
Is the Quadzilla or Dashdaq similar in price to Edge stuff for monitoring capabilites? I would just like something to tell me the things I would buy gauges for and not have to put ina pillar mount. I guess I will have to buy an additional EGT probe with any of them right?

For monitoring capabilities only I think the DashDAQ is a little more and you do have to get an additional EGT probe for the DashDAQ and for Fuel PSI if you want to monitor that as well as those are not covered in the OBD-II computer. However, last time I checked Quadzilla and Edge and the others only monitor around 40 sensors that run thru the computer, the DashDAQ with the enhancement license has significantly more sensors(some of which who would want to monitor them except when datalogging). Think of the DashDAQ has the AutoEnginuity of digital monitors.
