Through searching I found out how (sort of) to drain the torque converter. I don't understand how to get the drain plug for the TQ in place. One thread said to "bump" the engine. Does this mean to turn on the ignition, then shut off until the plug gets into place? What other methods are there for getting the TQ drain plug into place? Do I drain the TQ after dropping the pan? Does all the fluid also drain from the tranny cooler and lines? Thank You in advance! btw, this is on a 95 f150 XLT 5.0 with the above tranny.
To start with not all torque converter have drain plugs, mine does not. Any torque converter made after April 2002 does not have the drain plug so if it has been replace after that date it may not have one.

Yes it is what they are saying, either by using the key or a remote push button. This is not easy to do sometimes.

I always use the socket on the crankshaft bolt in the front to get it in place.

I would get it in place, drop the pan and then pull the plug while the pan is off.

No fluid ill not drain from the Transmission cooler and lines.
You could remove both ends and blow through them with compressed air.
to get the plug in position on my truck,I laid under the truck and rotated the engine with a socket on the harmonic balancer so I could see when the plug was lined up with the hole in the bellhousing
