MLPS sensor replacement

Has anyone every replaced one of these on their transmission. If so was a senor alignment tool necessary.

MLPS sensor replacement

I replaced the MLP Sensor on my Mark VIII without the alignment tool mentioned in the shop manual. The sensor has the neutral position marked. Keep the alignment marks aligned while placing it on the shifter shaft of the transmission. Have the transmission in neutral.
