INLINE SIX to an smallblock V8 engine swap write up
start by having all the parts you need..
you need for the swap:
V8 radiator becuase the hoses are on the other side as from the inline six
V8 ENGINE HARNESS WITH ECU
V8 MOTOR MOUNT CHASSIS PERCHES
V8 MOTOR RUBBER MOUNTS
here you can see the motor mount chassis perches and rubber engine mounts in the front.
STEP 1
THEN REMOVE THE ENGINE:
the engine bay should look like this
STEP 2
remove those inline six cross member perches on the cross members
STEP 3 install the V8 chassis perches
you must remove 2 rivets that are in the way
you can recycle the same bolts that was used with the inline six perches
should look like that when finished
now you need an v8 engine harness from a donor truck swap all the wires and ECU and it should be just a plug and play swap
NOTES:
inline six 4.9
uses the same bolt pattern as all ford small blocks 302 - 351 so you can use yor inline six tranny
if you have an electronic transmission like the E4OD or the AODE
you need an matching ECU for those transmissions
