I have a F 1993 150 5.0 with 38s and 4.57 gears. My clutch is going out and I am thinking about a centerforce clutch but I really don't know which one or if their is a better idea. I do a lot of four wheeling but I still drive the truck to work any ideas or help?
Centerforce makes 3 clutch types I II and DF, I'm using a 12" DF and it has excellent street manners (easy to work) and excellent grip. I had to switch flywheels because of a 428 crank swap and that allowed me to run a 12" instead of the 11".
I'd first look into what size you can run first, you might be able to swap flywheels and run a larger clutch, larger is better. Your's might interchange with the 351W flywheel and that might allow for a larger clutch.
After finding out the largest you can run, I'd go with a centerforce dual friction setup because it's one of the strongest. They use weights to force the clutch to grip tighter. I got mine from jegs (www.jegs.com) for about $325. Don't forget to have the flywheel resurfaced and new TO bearing.
