>This weekend I started my truck and went for a 10mile drive and on the way back, my truck stopped at a stop light and then my truck back fired and then DIED. I tried to restart it over and over for about 20 minutes but it just would not turn over. I ended up pushing it off the road. I came back a few hours later to give it another try and it started right up. during the struggle of trying to get it to start it backfired a few times. I am thinking it might be my alternator but not sure? does anyone have any idea? Thanks <o

Your profile isn't complete so I have no idea what truck you have, but I would think this is the answer.
$50 and 30 seconds to attach the two plugs and you can drive it away.
I keep a spare under my seat for just this reason.
