Okay, a few searches all giving me the same results of everything but a battery suggestion.
I need new batteries, What should I grab?
I don't want to throw in too crappa a batteries but want some decent ones.
Also, I need to clean the screen. Diesel clean really made a mess in my fuel system.
If i stand at the front of the truck, its the part that bolts on to the right side of the fuel bowl (Drivers side) Correct?
I take that off and clean screen? I cleaned the inside with a q-tip, and it was super dirty, So i know it has to be cleaned.
Fuel in the fuel bowl was really dirty also.
William, I would get the most CCA's you can afford....along with a national warranty since you travel so much. Most batteries are made by only a hand full of companies. The sellers just have their label stuck on them ie. Napa, Autozone, Sears ect.
If your fuel bowl is that dirty then remove it and give it a good scrubbing along with new rubber fuel lines. Remove the fuel heater to get access to the bottom of the housing, You can disassemble it on the bench. Use new o rings just for insurance.
I don't have time to do all that right now Jim. Just gotta clean the screen.
I'm not sure how easy or involved it is.
But, I'm leaving tomorrow morning, and I don't want to spend the rest of the day in 100F weather disassembling my fuel bowl.
I'ma run and get some napa batteries, they are highest crank and cheepest.
Pluss them a-holes sent me the wrong oil the other day, so I'ma take that back.
I got some bad connections on the cables I have to fix when I get home as well. I'm sure they didn't help.
Then hopefully I can get it started and back to the barn to work on the fuel problem.

Jim maybe you could shed some light on this for me. I have always heard "buy the most CCAs you could afford" and it makes sense but even if the battery is made for a different vehicle but has higher CCAs than the batteries made for our trucks we should buy those?

If they fit under the hood, run 'em. And as Talyn said, no deep cycle.
