?? on high RPM's

94 Bronco, 302, E4OD. In drive or in park most of the time stays 900 to 1000 rpm's . Once in a while will go to the right 600 to 700 range. Manual states something about hot sensors ?????????. where or what do I look for or needs to be changed or fixed. Any thoughts, Thanks.

You pull the codes, get a short piece of wire or even a paperclip and jumper the STI and Sig-Rtn lines in the EEC test harness(drivers side inner fender). turn the key to run and count the flashes on the check engine light. See http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/?p=13 for more info.

In addition to Paul's comment, check for vacuum leaks especially in the areas of the TAB/TAD solenoids through the diverter valve and the EGR valve vacuum supply. The reason I suggest these particular locations is that the vacuum supply for these components is always present upstream of the solenoids but the solenoids themselves control vacuum flow during engine operation and a leak downstream of either one could be contributing to the "high RPM condition" when they open during operation. In most cases pulling codes will indicate the exact problem spot. I offer this as an alternative should codes yield no viable options.
