Wiper Arm Adjustment

Hello... Long time lurker, first time poster...

I have a 2008 F-250 Lariat PSD. Recently went through a car wash that I've been through a million times... This time the wash "bumped" the drivers side wiper arm such that the wiper blade now rests about two inches higher than it should -- in the parked position the end of the wiper arm is much higher on the windshield than it should be. Not the end of the world, but certainly annoying. Needless to say I will not be going back to this car wash again!

The arm doesn't look bent/damaged or anything; I removed the arm and I can see how it attaches to the motor head, which is notched to accommodate the arm in position. It seems to me if the motor head were to be turned maybe an eighth or sixteenth of a turn counter-clockwise, the problem would be solved, this would cause the arm's parked position to be correct.

The question is... First off, am I on the right track as to how to fix this, or is there a better way? And if I'm headed in the right direction, how do I make this adjustment? There certainly should be a better way than just grabbing the motor head with a set of channel-lok pliers, but I don't see an obvious way to adjust... ;-)

Thoughts? Any suggestions much appreciated!

First off, I don't have on 08, but have adjusted other wipers. There should be an adjustment on the arms down under the cowl. The plastic pc that is covering the area below the windshield. It sounds like the adjustment screw/bolt is loose and caused the arm to move up.

Good thought- I popped the cowl off this morning and unfortunately cannot find any method of adjustment. Don't know how it looks on the earlier models but on the 08 the wiper motor is actually a little closer to the centerline of the truck and there is an arm under the cowl that runs across to where the wiper arm attaches.

There is no adjustment on these.
You are on the right track, remove, reposistion and reinstall.
IIRC You can remove the key on the shaft to get you the right adjustment.

The key at the point where the wiper arm attaches to the servo is indeed removable but it cannot be repositioned; If I remove it then nothing is going to lock the arm to the servo and move the wiper. Or did you mean someplace else?

You're right, although, the wiper arm is "splined" as well as the pivot arm.
This will hold the wiper arm in posistion with out the key.
