You can probably figure around 20% including rebates and incentives.
Shop around.........it's definitely a buyers market.

Good luck

I get the Z plan through my dad. Understand that this is not for a truck, but on the Fusion Hybrid base vehicle I will get $2031 off. The price on Ford's "Build and Price" page is $27,270 and the dealer told me the Z plan price would be $25,239. I'm not sure if that price includes the $725 Destination charge or not, but if it does it would be $2755 off. With the Cash for Clunkers program going into effect soon, I have a hard time justifying passing up getting $4500 for my '95 Crown Vic with over 200K on the clock....

I got $10,000 off the sticker when I bought mine last august, they had the employee pricing and some other discount, I forgot what. I buy a new truck every few years and it has been my experience that the dealers will generally give you $3,000 of the price and try to stick to that, they will tell you that is their invoice price or some b.s. like that. If you shop around enough you could do better, the thing is to just be patient.

Dang thats a good deal there... wish they had more of those 08 leftovers for cheap, at least gas ones - I dont really need diesel. When I put my order together for my 09 it rang up about that price (~34k) and I got a pretty well stripped down XL with no power or auto anything. Heck I could have got the XLT upgrade, PSD, and torqueshift for free basically lol. Xplan gave me about $1500 off, other than that the current rebates are 3500 here not sure whats going to happen in July though. BTW I'm a fellow Ohioan (not native though). Ordered my 09 from Coughlin Ford in Johnstown. Should have it pretty soon...

Funny you say that, as this was exactly my situation. I was looking for a V10, but they are hard to find. So I figured that I couldn't hurt anything with having too much capacity, so I did it...

Working off of the sticker price (MSRP) does not scale very well. This becomes even more true between different trim & option levels. For example, someone may report 15% off of sticker on their XLT, but someone with a King Ranch may be lucky to get around 10%.

Also, some folks are including rebates & incentives in their figures. As some of these are limited in time, region, and/or scope (only available on 6.4L Powerstroke diesels, for example), these discounts may be completely unavailable or irrelevant to your situation. You can hit Ford's website to see what offers are currently available.

The real place to work from is the dealer invoice price. If you find a new vehicle sitting on a dealer's lot, you can request a copy of the dealer's price sheet for that vehicle. That document will include the X plan, AZ plan, MSRP, invoice, and a couple of other prices.

Alternatively, you can go online & hit one of the build & price sites. Edmunds.com would be one example. After selecting all of the options, it will present you with both the MSRP & invoice prices for that vehicle.

The bottom line is that if you are paying anything significantly above dealer invoice, you are not getting as good of a deal as you could be getting. Some dealerships will accept dealer invoice if you ask them. Others may take hours upon hours of negotiations to get them down to dealer invoice. One possible shortcut would be to get an X Plan PIN, and take that in when you hit the bargaining table. Incidentally, the current X Plan pricing is: Dealer Invoice - 0.4% of Invoice + $275 Administration Fee.

Good luck!!

I received a good deal on a leftover '08...

a few months ago. It's a CC 4WD 5.4/3.73 automatic XL model, but optioned up nicely (pw/pl/tilt/cruise/integrated tow brake/sliding rear window/chrome package/camper package/upgraded headlights/shift on the fly/cloth interior etc), and a few other options.

I paid $23,995 and the sticker was 35k. I was looking for a leftover F150, but when I saw this one with only 20 miles on it, I jumped on it. The HD chassis/axles are worth the extra coin.

It's also a late (September '08) build, so it did not sit on the lot for a year (or more). I think sales were so low in '08 that they curbed back production, and stretched the '08 model year a bit.

Thanks to ebay deals, I've added OEM running boards ($200.00 shipped), and 18" alloy rims/caps ($400.00 shipped). Toyo OC A/T's were $825.00 shipped (275/70-18). They just recently started making an aftermarket chrome grille for less than $300.00 as well - it'll look like an XLT soon. All I need now is to add Detroit Tru-Tracs LS units and I'm set. I'm extremely happy with the truck so far (3,500 miles), the 5.4 is great for my relatively light towing needs (car in a 20' enclosed trailer).

They have been offering $16,000 off MSRP on all 2008 diesels in stock at a couple of dealerships here in San Diego for the past couple of months. I bought a 2008 F250 XLT 4x4 Crewcab SWB Diesel from El Cajon Ford last week at that discount. The sticker was $48,120 before discounts. I beleive $9,800 of the discount was incentives from Ford, the rest the dealership discounted. Smooth deal, no hidden agenda, and I was in and out in an hour. Love this truck!!!

Did any of you guys recently (past year or so) trade in a F250 for a new one? Just curious how much the dealers are offering for trade trucks or if they are low balling them since the price of new ones is so low.

Point of reference: I have a 2006 lariat PSD, supercab, long bed, great shape w/ 70k miles. Any idea how much I wold get in trade in?
