I just purchased a Superchips micro tuner for my 05 PSD. I excitedly opened the box and ran out to the truck to plug it in. To my suprise I got an error when the programmer tried to download the factory file. Error E2F. Called Superchips and they told me it was pin 15 not connected in the OBDII port. I thought that sounded like a load of crap but sure enough, Ford didn't run the wire to the plug. It was taped up in the harness. The tech told me it was so people couldn't tune their trucks. What a chicken $%# thing to do. Anyhow, I got the correct pin and will try to stab it in the plug tomorrow. Will post back on how it goes.

I never heard of that before. I know that the pins in the OBD II port all have certain functions. If I get board tomarrow I will get a skematic and check and see what all the pins are supposed to be for.
I wouldnt think that FOMOCO would not connect wires like that but hey you never know. My SCT X 3 works flawlessly.

FYI, I am a Ford Tech and we have taped up wires before so people can't program. They don't come from the factory this way because then we can't update the PCM's either, however we have only done it when customers keep coming complaining about issues related to their programmers and then asking us to fix them.

So today I crimped a new pin on the wire that was taped up in the harness and stabbed it back into the OBDII plug. Tried the programmer again, same error. Looks like I'm back to calling Superchips on Monday. On a good note, when I talked to their customer service tech Friday, he said the programmer I have is old technology. If I send it in to them they will give my $150 towards the new flashpaq. Not a bad deal. I'll update again after I talk to them tomorrow.
