scratched front windows

On my 06 the front windows are scratched from dirt getting trapped between the felt and glass. I know there is a tsb on this but cant seem to find it now. I am planning on fixing this by getting new glass and felt for the outside of the doors. Is ther anything else I need to do so I dont have to replace them again? thanks for any info you can help me with.

Never roll the glass up or down unless the window is spotless. When glass is covered with mud and sand and dirt it gets trapped in the felt crack and will scratch every time. Sand is by far the worst. When u wash the truck u need to wash the felt track real good also. I try to never roll my glass up or down as u never know how clean the track is. I never drive with the windows down anyway as u can't hear squat and i got one of them there ACs and heaters so no need to fight the elements.

My truck is going under the knife on Wednesday. I have a small oil leak from the main seal witch apparently requires removal of the cab for repair. While I was at the dealer last week the service manager mentioned that there was a TSB for the windows and offered to get them taken care of while it the shop. I know that you don't hear that very much, a service manager bringing up a TSB to help a customer out. Needless to say, I am happy with my servicing dealer (so far)!!

Pretty much all TSB's are only covered under the 3/30k and premium extended warranties.

I got my truck in the shop now. How do I know if they actually do the TSB? Replace the window and readjust the dew strip? The window does have the vertical scratches on both sides.

I don't know if my local dealer was not competent in doing the repairs correctly or Ford's TSB's just don't work. I have a 2005 with 27,000 miles, which is very well taken care of. I also try to keep weather strip area clean. I have had the problem since the truck was new and is now out of warranty. I've been in contact with Ford customer service this past month, which at first seemed like they were going to do something, but it ended up just being a waste of time. They claim the TSB's were performed to specs and that is all they are required to do. My complaint is that they have never been able to fix the problem!?
I really like the truck but don't want to live with this problem. I thought about buying the glass, weather strips and installing them myself but don't want to put more money in it if it will not correct problem.
I'm thinking of getting rid of the truck, use my $4500 cash clunker money(old plow truck) to buy another brand.
