I just installed a TCI rear spring kit on a 1950. Did anyone have a problem with the top shock mount bar. I went with the measurements in the directions but it seems to be off. The shocks do not mount vertical. I have to pull them back about 2 inches to mount the top shock mount. Just wondering if anyboby had to adjust the measurement for the shock bar.

Just went out and measured the top shock bar.It measures 28 and 3/4 inches from the end of the frame rail to the center of the bolt that goes thru the frame.I don't remember what the directions called for on the measurement. My shocks fit easy with no forcing.Hope this helps.
I installed the TCI kit in my '50 and seem to have had the same problem. I prepped for the installation measuring exactly to the TCI measurements and drilled the necessary holes. Bottom line is my shock crossbar was about two inches off. I called the GM at TCI and pitched a fit sending him email photos of the error in their instructions. He was very supportive and sent me a complete power brake pedal kit and booster as a make nice gesture. I weld up the frame holes and started again with the correct measurements and all is well. Frustrating but well and I really love the brake kit. Good luck.
I mounted the shock bar 1st then put the rear end in. Sounds like I will have to move the shock bar. You think they would have changed there directions if someone had problems with their measurements. Thanks for the imput. Terry
