I see in Edmunds the 2010' F-150 does NOT offer the short bed in the extended cab configuration. Must not have sold well???? I have this set up and I can say it's a great truck. Not too big, handles well, yet still has a respectable payload capacity.
Makes yours even more rare. it does make a nicely proportioned truck. I just saw one the other day for the first time.
My next one will be a supercab 6.5 foot box because the supercrew ends up being too long. A supercab 5.5 foot box would be nice and handy for city driving, parking, driving downtown in more tight places.
My local dealer has two of them, one FX4 and one 4x4 Lariat and both ugly as hell with the Scab and 5.5' box. What's the point? The short bed Screw is bad enough.
Sorry you feel that way tseekins. I looked high and low for my SCAB 5.5 STX. I refuse to own a vehicle I can't fit in my garage and the 6.5 was a few inches too long.

Well, I wasn't trying to trample anyones feelings here as feelings are easily hurt on the '09 forum. I feel the that the Scab w/ 5.5' box is disproportionate compared to the larger bed.
The really cool thing is that this information was brought to light by some heads-up research. Now, for those of you that like the 5.5' better, this may be a good time to go and get one.
Scab with 5.5' box = 219.9" bumper to bumper
Scab with 6.5' box = 231.7" bumper to bumper
Screw with 5.5' box = 231.7" bumper to bumper
Screw with 6.5' box = 243.7" bumper to bumper
too long? Screw with 5.5' box is exact same size as Scab with 6.5' box

+100%
5.5' bed only looks good on a Screw. Otherwise the 6.5' bed is the only bed proportional for a Scab
Supercrew with 5.5 box=yes...but it never used to be for me. I thought it looked silly and was usless for a truck. With that being said, beacuse of the new huge rear cab of the supercrew with the flat load floor, I believe I could now get by with a 5.5 box.
I think its a mongrel mix, that should be culled out. As much as its going to pain some customers, Ford really needs to be smarter about their product mix going forward. Its no hidden point that all the domestics would LOVE to immediately go to the Japanese way of optioning (either you buy X,Y, or Z.... nothing custom past that)... but its going to take time for the hardcore truck market.
the reason its gone is because that is the configuration of the raptor and ford does not want people buying a extended cab short box and making there own raptor they want them purchasing the raptor from them instead.

There could be some merit to what you say but any truck can be built and otherwise modified to replicate what ever you want.
