Depends on the bell housing. The NP 435 had the bell housing bolted to it, so it could be put behind different engines. The 429 is the same engine block as a 460 which has the same bolt pattern as the 351M/400 Ford engines. If the NP435 was behind any of these engines, I believe it will bolt up to the 429.
That first post was right on the money: Find a 351M/400 B/H from a '78/'79 Bronco/F or a '80-'84(?) Bronco same engines.
So was the second: AA is a lot of help, go to their website and get a free "Buyer's Guide" for sure, but I don't think you need to buy anything from them with this one.
The keys here are:
(1), mechanical, not hydraulic, clutch actuation (if you have mech. now--if hyd., post; it gets weirder but I've been there and can help);
(2), 6-1/4" x 8-1/2" bolt centers (smaller measurement sides, larger top and bottom;
(3), 6-1/2" input shaft stickout, 10-spline x 1-1/16" o.d., w/7/8" dia. x 1" L. pilot shaft;
(4), 6" bellhousing depth;
(6), correct throwout bearing pivot arm to go w/B/H.
