I have 2000 CC dually and looking for camper tie downs. i found this one on craigslist and was wondering if it will work. The guy says it maybe for a ford. Let me know what you guys think so I can pick this up this weekend.
These look to be the "stake and pocket" type rather than the "slide-in" type. If so, I would say that they are probably the kind you are looking for.
I have a light Starcraft pop-up, and I made the mistake of getting the "slide-in" type originally. After bending the truck bed at the cabin and bending one of the tie-downs into a pretzel, I changed to the stake-and-pocket type and have had good results since.
One suggestion, though: Get a spring tensioner set and install it with your chain/hook/tightener assembly. You'll save yourself a huge headache down the road.
If you can afford them spring for the torklift frame mounted tie downs. They are receivers mounted to the frame and the tie down extensions come off so when not hauling they are out of site
I have Happi-jac frame mounted tie-downs and have used them for several years with no problems. Stake pocket tie-downs are ok for something lite-weight, say no more than 1000 lbs. My t-c weighs about 3000 lbs. loaded.
