I was working on my bronco ignition when I found the vacuum advance had a leak and wasn't doing its thing. Replaced it with a Napa unit and now when I hook up the line it will idle fine but as soon as I throttle it up it runs like crap and wants to die. Checked it with a timing light and it seems to be advancing too far and acting as soon as the rpm increases.
Hoping someone might be able to help me out. I am going into a mud bog competion this weekend and really would like to get this figured out. The vacuum line goes to the bottom of the carb. It runs fairly well without it hooked up but I will be needing the extra power. Thanks in advance
Pull off the vac hose and look in the nipple it slides onto. If you are lucky it may be adjustable, and you will see a small allenhex in there. Turn the allen to adjust the advance to your liking.
