Injection pump probs
Has anyone heard of a truck sitting up for a while(6 months) and then the pump going bad? I've been in Kansas working for 6 months and when I got back I got my 88 Ford out and running. It ran good for 2 days, then the injector pump just died. It has fuel coming into the pump and out the top return line, but none at the injectors. The solenoid is clicking like normal when you unhook the wire. It was running fine and it just cut off in the road and I can't get any fuel out of it. I called the mechanic at the local Ford place who I know, I always call him b/c he has worked there since these trucks were new, he said the valves in the pump are probly stuck if it has been sitting a while, I've never heard of the valves being stuck, this doesn't make sense to me, does anyone have any suggestions.
