hey guys a question for all the ranger guys. my gf has an 01 ranger 2wd and im looking to put together a small cheap lift for it. ive heard that you can use stock f-150 coils in it and that will give it about 2 or 3 inches of lift. but when i looked at the coils on a 2002 supercrew they looked shorter then her springs. if anyone has any ideas on a set of junkyard coils i could use to get some lift i would appreciate it.

 

As far as a lift that will last, do it right the first time. Give it a true 2" lift and throw some 265's on it and it's ready for a field trial in the country. You and her will be happy you did.

 

I would look into a real suspension lift for the truck. Give her a suspension lift, she'll give you a lift. Works out great!

 

its not so much the spring height vs the rate, when using the bigger trucks for springs for lift springs.

There is a certain year chevy 1500 spring that work to lift them, but they ride like crap. stiff as a rock. and its a trial and error kind of thing to get the alighment back in spec. I dont know off hand waht spring it is,seen it on dezertrangers.com

there are also spacers out there,that go under the spring, I dont know who makes them. maybe ask on therangerstation.com

watch graigslist and such for a lift spindle. best way to go about it for a cheap lift and keep a decent ride etc.
