Recommended Maintenance

Does anyone know if there is a mileage allowance for the recommended scheduled maintenance? What I am referring to are you allowed to go over the limit of 7500 miles for an oil change and still keep your warranty in force. All of the recommended maintenance intervals are 7500 miles apart, and it is almost impossible to perform everything at exactly 7500 miles.

Thanks,
Larry

lower your interval to say around 6K and then you will be safe. 7500 miles between servicing is too long in my opinion.

Are we taking about changing the eng oil? Gas or an oil burner? Either way that is too long of an interval even though that is the recommended one.

Welcome Larry. I just changed my oil at 12,000 miles. Yeh that to long off a period off time. But I did oil anaysis an everything was OK. 6000 mile would be a much better deal by far.

Larry,

What engine do you have in your truck? If it's a diesel, you should change the engine oil and filter every 5K and the fuel filters every 15K if you do nothing else.

If it was my truck and was still under warrenty, I would make sure maintenance was done before the recommended interval to ensure there was no quibbling by the dealer about the warrenty if something happened.

I do most of the maintenance on my truck including oil changes etc, but I didn't start that until the warrenty was expired.

I have a 2007 F250 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel. The recommended maintenance interval is 7,500 miles, unless it is used under extreme conditions, then it is 5,000 miles. At $97.00 per oil change I am having to go as long as possible.

Larry,

The 6.0 is very dependent on clean oil. Most people on the forum will recommend the 5K interval I'm sure.

Surf the 6.0L diesel section of FTE to learn more.

I have 118K on my '03 6.0L and have not had a single engine issue. I have alway followed the 5K interval, extreme conditions or not.

Steve
