Does anyone know if there is a mileage allowance for the recommended scheduled maintenance? What I am referring to are you allowed to go over the limit of 7500 miles for an oil change and still keep your warranty in force. All of the recommended maintenance intervals are 7500 miles apart, and it is almost impossible to perform everything at exactly 7500 miles.
Welcome Larry. I just changed my oil at 12,000 miles. Yeh that to long off a period off time. But I did oil anaysis an everything was OK. 6000 mile would be a much better deal by far.
What engine do you have in your truck? If it's a diesel, you should change the engine oil and filter every 5K and the fuel filters every 15K if you do nothing else.
If it was my truck and was still under warrenty, I would make sure maintenance was done before the recommended interval to ensure there was no quibbling by the dealer about the warrenty if something happened.
I do most of the maintenance on my truck including oil changes etc, but I didn't start that until the warrenty was expired.
I have a 2007 F250 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel. The recommended maintenance interval is 7,500 miles, unless it is used under extreme conditions, then it is 5,000 miles. At $97.00 per oil change I am having to go as long as possible.
