Have an 89 f-150 4x4 mazda 5-spd and changed gears from 3.08's to 3.73's, and im also running 32x11.50/15 tires. when the 3.08's were in the speedo was off 5mph at 60mph, and now with the 3.73's i cant really tell. I really want the right gear so i dont get he LAW after me for speeding again! thanks in advance!
Dave, Most towns have a shop where you can get your speedo calibrated. Ask a local cop that has been of the force a couple of years, he should be able to direct you. I am not sure about the electronic speedos but (at least in NC) all cop cars had to have their speedos calibrated (tested) monthly to maintain their certified rating. If a cop said that he followed you and you were traveling a certain speed, his speedo had to be correct, even if yours was not. A lot of folks have gone to those places and had their speedo corrected and sometimes their ticket reduced to something less.
