2004 Drivers POWER Seat problem

We took my father-in-law's 2004 5.4 Lariat thru a creek collecting creek rock. Water never got into the cab. Perhaps near 3/4 of the wheel height.

The drivers seat power quit working (where you move the seat back and forth, tilt, etc.) We changed the fuse. It didn't fix anything.

Is there ANOTHER fuse?

Is it likely the switch or the motor itself? Anyone have this problem in the past? Ideas?

Could I just disconnect the passenger side (it still works), hot wire it over to the drivers side, to determine if it is the SEAT MOTER or the SWITCH itself?

ANother issue

Cruise hasn't worked in ages.

Fuse is good.

Any ideas?

Rear seat passenger side power window works from the back seat.

But if I controll it from drivers seat, it doesn't work. Thus it is the switch? IS it easy to take off door panel, and clean the switch? Or is switch best replaced?

As to the window switch, I had the same issue on the passenger side. Switch was bad and just got a new switch. It's easy to take the panel off and replace it. I'd have to look at it again, but if I recall they just snap off.

Cruise inop, I would check the brake switch, the systems thinks the brakes are depressed and thus no cruise. Try searching the threads, I recall seeing a few on the same issue.

You're on the right track about hot wiring the seat motor. Just make sure you jumper the correct pins. You should have a hot wire in the connector and should be able to jumper it across if you have a pin out for the connector. Good luck

Make sure the plug under the drivers seat is pushed all the way in. I had the same problem and when I moved the seat back one time an ice scraper on the floor got in the way of the wires under the seat and pulled the plug apart. Try putting the truck into gear without stepping on the brake. If you can it is the brake switch.

Thanks guys. The truck does go into gear with the break being pressed.

Must be the break switch, but will start a new post for that.

I got the seat fixed, the fuse had already been replaced by someone else. I took it out, pushed it in further (#109), and it works.
Can they be in backwards? I Turned it up so the amp number was readable on the fuse.
