i am thinking about selling my truck and gathering some money together and buying a 7.3 powerstroke f-350 i was wondering what mods i need to do and how much money it will cost me for all of the parts (i do ALL work my self even gears)
i'd like at least 36in tires, do i need a lift if so how much
i'd want it to run mid/low 14s in the 1/4 and have some stacks in the bed that spew black smoke
obviously i would want lockers front and back
but my main concern is how much money will it cost and what mods do i need to do in order to get to mid/low 14s in the 1/4 with a powerstroke, the truck would be extended cab short bed, also what year is best for these trucks and can i get a manual trans and if so is it any good or will it blow up
if possible i would like to keep a fairly tight converter since i want a truck that can go through anything and tow anything that you can hook to it (and i have a lot of hitch attachments)
am i just dreaming? or is this even possible for a reasonable price
Not to be short, but your wallet will be your only limit, assuming it has a limit. The link at the top of the forum page has a lot of good info on mods and maintance. The Roadside Help Network link in my sig has a ton of useful info as well.

Yep, Clay would be a good source to feed your hunger. He has everything you could need to turn your truck into the gofast machine you want. He has been known to even help install the parts.

Come on down to Riffraff East and we will have that thing running 14's before you leave
Ya'll might, I'm helping with the kids and food. Toobroke up and down to do too much wrenching anymore.
I know exactly what you mean here Barry. After wrenching on the truck I am lucky to be able to get out of bed the next morning. Good thing I don't really have to.
