Unhappy hard steering

Ok, I did a quick turn in the dirt and now my steering is hard at an idle. If I raise the rpm's it gets easy. Fluid level is good. I noticed less braking power also (like a bad vacuum booster) again raise the rpm's and the brakes get better. Can these two systems be related? It's an 07 350 CC KR 6.0
Thanks in advance.
Mark

Yes, the power steering pump also is used for the power brakes. Check your fluid level.

Mine was doing the same thing this week and they put in a new pump and all is good. Ford has never been known for having great power steering pumps. There is a version 3 out now and it seems to be doing good.

I agree with lawnboy1965. My truck was doing the same thing at only 77K miles. Steering pump went out and I had to replace it. No problems since.

post #11 is how I flushed my system out, very easy.

Good Luck.
