fuel reset solutions
Are there any common solutions as to why the fuel pumps need to be reset? The BII is a 1988 with 2.9 engine. The BII was driving fine, making a slight left turn, slight downgrade when fuel system quit. Are the problems related to high resistence on the electrical connections due to corrosion on electrical connectors, clogged filters leading to high pump demand to maintain pressure leading to higher loads, just worn out pumps, ....???
When I found about reset button and reset the circuit, the BII started up easily.
Thanks

I assume you are refering to the inertia switch on the floorboard next to the transmission hump. It's been a long time since I've read up on the specifics, but there's a ball bearing in there and a magnet. If memory serves, when it feels a sufficient jolt (from an accident), the ball bearing does something to break the fuel pump circuit.
It's not common, but I have heard of a few cases where that mechanism wears out, and allows the switch to trip under much smaller jolts. Replacing theswitch would fix this sort of problem.
