What year is your BII? I'm wondering if your ignition module is bad. You need to check all the sensors and/or pull diagnostic codes as well. Plenty of into in the READ FIRST Tech Info section on this forum...

can that module on the side of the distributer do this?
the module can do that, take it off and take it in to be tested.
at least inspect the cap / rotor i had a buddy who spent around $300.00 on misc parts for his B2 and still couldnt get it to run, and it turned out to be a hairline crack in the Distributer cap.
