The nice thing about the bar off the F250 is- IT BOLTS RIGHT ON! You get the bar with the two rubber bushings. Unbolt the stock Excursion bar, and install the F250 bar in the same place with all the stock hardware. No experience with the Hellwig Bar, but I have seen some posts complaining about small issues to correct during the installation? I have also seen post talking about the high quality and handling improvements of the Hellwig bar. Looks like a nice piece, but I just don't have any first hand knowledge of it. Jim
I will have to call around and see if I can find a used one. Otherwise I'll see what the stealership (I borrowed that term) wants for a new one. If its a straight bolt-on that will be a big bonus.
I have to disagree with the OP. I did the V codes on the front, I have the RAS on the rear. Truck sits fairly level. I tow a 31ft 9000lb+ Travel Trailer. After readjusting my hitch I am very pleased with the results. Now if I run across a good deal on some B codes I would go ahead and switch the rears but for now its good.
I posted but not sure if i did it correctly. I have a 2001 V-10 EX. I have ride and controll problems. If i understand what you are saying is that a true 250 truck suspension will correct the ride and controll of the truck. I have a 01 f-350 7.3 that rides like a dream. I only use the ex for around town and hunting. If i hit a sewer cap the front end bounces and the back end jumps as well. Ford when the truck covered by ford told me i was crazy and to get use to a big truck ride. I explained i have a F 350 and the ride was great. Anyway, will putting a f-250 front and rear suspention on the ex give me the controll and ride that my 350 has? I have the V-10 not the 7.3. Please HELP, I love this EX and dont want to give it up. I went as far as adding and extra leaf spring but removed it, it made things worse. Im on vacation in Denver, my son is a Mec at a dealer and we want to fix this ASAP. We have the dealer lift at our disposal and and a lot of help on for the next week. Then its back to the 2 ton lift and a creeper. I cant see doing this on my back in the driveway. If you want to e-mail directly its del@electromax-inc.com
By the way, B codes and V codes, is that the type of spring that I would need from Ford. Im a newbe and not sure of the lingo, please put it in BUMB guy terms. The dealer my kid works for also owns a ford dealer and i get parts at cost. If any one can give me this information so that I can correct this prob, I would be happy to get any parts that you would need at the same cost I get.
I answered the same questions you posed in the other thread. I also posted a link for you that will give you all the info you need to attack this problem.
V Front Spring Pack: 2C3Z-5310-HA
B Rear Spring Pack: 3C3Z-5560-CA
Rear Sway Bar: F81Z-5A772-AA
Dual Bilsteins up front, single Bilsteins in the rear( specially valved).
A good steering stabilizer setup. I went with ProComp & dual FOX Stabilizers.
Not a cheap project if you have to buy FORD OEM New Parts, but worth every penny.
The truck is TOTALLY different than the stock EXCURSION ,in a good way
