LA Roadsters - So Cal

This is one of the largest gathering of "usins" in California. It's a Father's Day event that exhibits the best of the best in iron - Rods and Trucks. Big Swap Meet.

Dad took me since about '67 and after he died I've been going every year since then.

This year..... Nothing but Elvis paintings and Gumball Machine vendors........ $9 parking $15 Admission and $9 a Beer to watch Fonzie and Chip Foose sign posters.

They forgot what it was supposed to be........

I did see two very nice '49 F1s though......

A little too far for a weekend trip but maybe just maybe in the future.

eman, I agree. First time i've been to this show but compared to others I have been to it seemed overpriced and lacked good vendors.

I wish I would have seen those F1's........

I virtually drove by it on the way back to San Diego from the F100 Western Nationals...didn't stop this year because it was the wife's birthday and one show is enough on that day. Like most everything these days it has become very commercial...good if you are in the market though.

In Fairness to the LA Roadsters, I wrote them with my complaint and I was pretty critical. I received a nicer reply than I deserved. It's a bit of a mixed bag.

The LA Roadsters have been around since about '58 and are an institution. The Pomona Fairplex controls most of the pricing I guess. I suppose in these hard times, they will do what it takes to fill a vendor space even if it means that vendor is selling Sombreros...

I remember when I would go through there being amazed at how much cool car stuff was on display. I was hoping to find a few Truck Vendors and none were to be found. Oh well....

Next year go to Pomona then the following weekend come and see some FORD trucks. June 26, 2010 - the 28th Western Nationals, about 1/2 hour south of Pomona. Nice trees and great raffle prizes. Next year Pat Ford will be on hand.

How was that for a promotion bit..
