another brand that i like alot are the alpine or eclipse units, good quality and super reliable. the pricing is usually fair and they are super compatiable with almost anything. thats just my 2cents

I bought the Pioneer AVIC F910BT, but I do not think it has dual zone. I selected Pioneer primarily for best ratings on iPod control, though my primary concern was adding a rearview camera. Notice I only said bought not installed. Hard to believe but I have had this for months but have not gotten around to installing, partly due to busy schedule, partly due to the wife not knowing about it. For Father's Day, she gave me a protable GPS. Doh! Now even harder to reveal the prior purchase. I hate when that happens!

In shopping I also seriously considered Kenwood. I like and have owned Alpine, but did not hear great things at the time about the iPod intergration which was one of my criteria.

okay, getting closer to pulling the trigger

I'm about 99% certain I'm going to buy a DDX714 Kenwood unit.

now I'm shopping for headrest monitors.

found these, and they look pretty good. But I'm not sure if I should cheap it out, or go spend the $$$ for name brand stuff. damn tempted for these though...especially as I can get 4 of them from between $600-800 shipped
seem like a good idea?

I like the options on the 7" inch ones, especially the zippers. But watching Madagascar or Ice Age on that small screen is difficult. Which ever one's you go with you might consider just purchasing one set at first and see if you like them. While they say they are Sony internal components, lots of ebay companies use B stock or recycled stuff.

so I bought the head unit today

Kenwood DDX714

puppies aren't cheap...but it has the best features built in IMO for the price

I almost bought the JVC unit...but I would have to purchase the additional cables and that would eat away at the $150 difference between them.

btw, anybody know of a good Steering Wheel Adapter? Didn't notice until after I bought it that the damn HU needs an adapter to retain the OEM Steering Wheel controls

edit: I've really appreciated the help guys. It is mighty confusing looking at these things

Pac swi-jack; I have not used any of this stuff, but sounds like you are doing the same set up I was considering. There are quite a few guys on here that have used this one.
