1994 F-250. Recently my door buzzer has been going off randomly while driving. It never really goes off when I open the doors, or at least very rarely on the driver's side and never on the passengers. Recently though, it has been going off when I am driving down the road, with no apparent reason. I have to open/shut my door, then the passenger's door, and repeat until it stops. What is the easiest way to delete the buzzer? Is there a way I can get it to go on when I have a date in the truck so I have to lean over her to get it to stop? Haha. Thanks.
the sensor on the key switch is going bad, not an easy repair, you have to drop the steering column down, and remove your plastic to get to it. mabe someone here can tell you how to un hook the buzzer, and still keep your horn?
Well, my horn hasn't worked since I bought it from the farmer. I probably have a short somewhere. Also, I noticed that the wires that give power to the cigarette lighter were tampered with. I fixed those, and the lighter works now. I can't remember if the buzzing was going on before I did that or not. It does seem that if I mess with the ashtray, then the buzz happens. The short is prolly right there. I will look tomorrow and see if I can find it. But as far as a quick fix, what does the chime look like, and how do I disconnect it? I just have no idea what I am looking for here.
had another thought, you may have to adjust interior light switch in door jamb, alarm thinks door opening when hitting bumps.just take a deep socket and turn it out to be shorter against the door, might cure your problem.
