DVD question

I installed an aftermarket flip down dvd player. I used a wireless fm modulator to pick up the sound signal and now pick up the engine noise as well. Will a "wired" fm modulator solve the engine noise?

Does the FM Modulator connect to 12v power? If so, try a inline 12v noise suppressor.

That actually sounds like a good idea. I just got the new wired modulator in the mail yesterday. But I'll try a noise supressor first before I try to hook up the new one.
My next question is the dvd player has the IR transmitter for my wireless headphones, but they are an off brand and the problem i'm having is unless the sensor on the side of the headphones is lined up with the sensor on the tv, I have static. And if I move too far over, it cuts out all together. Would a better brand (more $$$) take care of this problem, or is it a "line of sight" thing?

As far as I know IR is line of sight, kinda like your TV remote, if something is blocking it, it won't work. If the headsets were RF then you wouldn't have an issue.

Thats what I kinda figured. Any chance of using RF wireless headsets with the IR tv?
