I also own a almost fully restomodded, 69 F-100, a 75 super beetle, and a 79 mustang fox body fastback with a 460 bored over to a 512, making close to 900 hp thats street legal, due to age, thankfully it doesn't have to pass emissions.

If you are one of the few people that know how to take care of your vehicle, then you are not a clunker driver, but a person that knows that a paid for vehicle is a much better vehicle than a new one. The mid 90's on up vehicles are a great improvement from the 80's, if you take care of them. I figure this new legislation is to force most of the population that only see a vehicle as a transporter to move into a smaller vehicle and to make it profitable for the NEW auto companies to manufacture small hybrids this will allow them to get a $3,000 to $4500 subsidy and after the credit the new car will still be the same price as they are currently selling to the public. Our congressmen and women are very smart, LOL, this will surely help us out of the depression, HA
