cash for clunckers part 2
#32
I am around a bunch of Dodges at work on a rather regular basis.
The more I am around them, the more I dislike them.
Today I drove a company 2000 model 2500 4x4 Cummins company truck to the job site.
Mind you this truck has less that 80,000 miles on it.
Wanders all over the road, been aligned by several places, tires changed, it don't make any difference.
If you have to drive it 100 miles to the job, your arms are tired when you get there.
So this evening, go to start it to come home...starter relay fuse blows twice before it starts.
Same thing yesterday.
Local garage says nothing wrong.
We can't find anything wrong either.
So when you have to drive it, just stop at the auto parts store and get the biggest pack of those mini fuses they have so you know you can get it started.
A 2003 3500 4x4 with 120,000 miles on it, front axle replaced last year because it cracked somewhere.
Front end alignment today because it was eating front tires.
1000 in parts on an axle replaced last year.
No electrical problem with the starter relay, but it cranks forever before it starts 80% of the time.
My 86 with 440,000 miles on it drives better than either of those trucks and definitely starts faster..
And before you say it was abuse, both trucks look brand new.
Very seldom even driven off road.
Don't haul very much and don't tow very often at all.
I am totally unimpressed with either of them, Cummins, six speed's and most definitely the steering.
The more I am around them, the more I dislike them.
