[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-Jan-02 AT 08:43 PM (EST)]Depends on what you do with your truck. Normal fluid intervals is every 30K. If you tow a lot, plow, or basically abuse your tranny then change every 12-15K. My dealer told me the filter is every other fluid change but who would want to keep a dirty filter in with clean fluid? I always change the filter with every fluid change.
Changing the filter every 30-50k is about right depending on what you do. Flushing the whole system, meaning torque converter and every thing would be about every 60-80k. Maybe thats what the dealer meant.

I'll be more than happy to scan the owner's manual in so that you all can read it. 60K is waaaaaaaaay too long.
Doin' it is easy and cheap. Normal mileage means you'll do it every other year. If your gonna pay to do it or even do it yourself. Change the filter too. In fact, with the exception of the cost of the filter and gasket, my dealer actually charges me LESS to replace all the fluid than to do the flushy thing. It's your tranny though....
