Need help with an engine miss

Hey all,

I've got a 1999 F-150 with the 4.6. It idles as smooth as glass and accelerates smooth but when it hits high gear it developes a miss. It isn't constant but sometimes it jumps pretty badly.

I have:
Replaced the plugs (Bosch) and wires.
Removed and cleaned the throttle body and cleaned the intake.
Replaced the PCV valve.
Ran injector cleaner through it several times.
Replaced the air filter.

Any help in tracking this down would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

No codes

Thanks for the help. No, I have no codes and the check engine light isn't on.

I thought of the coils but don't know how to check them. I am more inclined to think that it's the coil insulators. I will check them today.

Thanks again,

Jim

I'll second the coil pack breaking down under load. Some other owners have reported trouble with Bosch spark plugs in these trucks too. Good luck!
