won't start (86 bronco)

86 bronco wont start, The battery is fully charge and the starter slynoid is new. When I turn the key switch on, the lights on the dash come on, the buzzer sounds, but when you try to start it nothing happens.

Could it be the ignition switch?

Also: I have jumped the sylnoid with a pair of pliers and it will start.

The wire that comes from the ignition switch and connects to the starter sylnoid has no volts coming out of it when you try to start it.

Sounds like the switch or a damaged wire. If replacing the switch doesn't solve the problem you are in for the tedious task of tracing a bad wire.

If the switch doesnt fix it. would it be easier to run a new wire from the sylnoid to the ignition switch and solder it in place of the old wire instead of tracing down a damaged wire

Quite possibly, yes. I'd try the switch first though... think about how may times since that switch has made contact since 1986.
