Hello Jim, and welcome to the site , don't know how you got missed. As for the grille,I have seen it done on an f1 51-52, seen the picture somewhere on the internet and I'm thinking the Hamb. I'd give it a try. Like Julie said you'd have to fill in the holes where the teeth were and the grille would have to be cut in three sections, for mounting it to the air dams you would have to cut out relief holes to acomadate the headlight buckets. The picture of the truck I'd seen looked pretty good. I'll look around to see if I can find it for you and post it.
John
Thanks John for the welcome ; That would be great if you can post it here. I new there would be some cutting , on the ends maybe . I was hopeing the center could be left alone then maybe no rechroming to do. cutting out for the buckets would take a little work. JIM

Take a look at a 56 air deflector to see what's involved, you might be able to beat yours on a sand bag to duplicate the dimple. If you doing it to a chrome grille you will likely have to do rechroming anyways. You could cut the grille just short enough to graft the grille to the 51's headlight pots and eliminate any work to the air deflectors, another thought. I couldn't find the picture yet, I thought it was on the Hamb and it still could be or maybe Rat Rod Rules, hopefully I'll come across it again.
thats the trouble with the printed word it's hard to express yourself.
My biggest beef with the interent. I've found using smilly faces and things like "lol" help to get across what you're trying to say better than without.
For instance:
Well that was a dumb idea
verse
Well that was a dumb idea, lol :P
Ok granite I'd probably never say that but the second one at least gets across the kidding additude rather than being judgemental. I use them a lot... which probably makes me a look like an idiot sometimes, lol, but at least it makes intentions easier to see... er, I hope. Maybe I just think it does and it makes me look like an idiot even more, lol. Oh well ;P
Thanks for posting that pic,it's not the one I had seen but gets me off the hook as I knew I'd seen it done and had suggested it to a friend that has a 52.
Hey it does look good, better than I expected, and thanks everybody for the wellcome and positive response to my grill question. There is a chrome shop about 10 miles away I believe I will give them a visit. Oh and thanks [ stephen67 ] for the advice . I am learning how to use [ LOL ] ect. but still havn't learned how to use the [ quote thingy ] like you did when you quoted me JIM

Hi Jim if you do this project with the 56 grill take pictures and put them in a gallery which can be used as a furture source of info to share with the FTE family.
Welcome to the site Jim.
HI Jack ; It's going to be awhile before I will have anything worthwhile to show , as I gave the f/2 frame away to a friend , so I will need to come up with my own frame and a few misl. parts . I have another non ford project I need to finish first . I allways spend a lot of time on research before I get very far into a project. then I don't have to tear something apart later , I learned that little skill from being a general housing and remodeling contractor the hard expensive way. LOL Thanks for the welcome and have a good day JIM
