Ive been looking everywhere but cant get a straight answer. Im going to be changing my front/rear diff fluid as well as tranny t case and engine oil. what type/kind should i use and how much so i know how much to buy. I want to do full synthetic everything. royal purple? any additives i should put in as well as new fluids? thanks for the help.
You'll never get an answer on which fluids to use. People will argue till the day they die which brand is better. My truck has all different types of brands in it. Motocraft synthetic motor oil, motocraft filter. Royal Purple ATF in the transfer case, and Mobile One Synthetic in the diffs. Reason for the different fluids? Easy answer. It's what Napa had. No reason besides that. I hear good things from Royal Purple, Ams Oil, Red Line, and Mobile One.
Make sure you add friction modifier to your rear diff. 4-8oz, check your owner's manual for amounts.
As for the transmission, haven't touched that one yet, plus I have an auto, so no suggestions from me.
Those are my two cents, people will probably disagree with me.
