battery/electrical problem?

battery/electrical problem?
Yesterday I went out to move the truck out front to load some limbs and other yard debris in her. I put the key in the ignition waited for the plugs to warm up and soon as I turned the key to start it lost all power to the truck. Everything stopped working, windows, radio, lights. I figured the batteries were low so hooked up the charger to one and it said it was full. Hooked it up to the other one and it wouldn't even register on the charger. So, I am going to replace my batteries and cables attempting to solve the problem. My only issue is, I don't think the batteries are the only problem. After things went haywire, when I put the key in and turn it I could hear a constant clicking, almost like a relay trying to engage. Could I have somehow lost a relay at the same time my battery bit the dust or is there something else I should be looking at?

I would bet if you replace the batts the relays will come back to life. Usually if there is not enough juice the relays will just click as they are trying to work.

GP relay is only about a year and a half old so it should be dead. I could see the lack of juice not letting them kick on, but it was the power to the entire truck that went. Is there a main relay for the trucks power?
