I have got a 04 f-150 5.4 supercab. It's not a 4x4. It does really good towing my camper until I get into some hills. I was thinking about putting a chip in. Do any of yall have any suggestions. I really dont tow the camper but maybe 4 times a year...So I really dont want to go and buy another pick up!! My 04 is the new body style and it has the towing package on it with the trans cooler and everything. It also has the 17 tires on it and I have put performance exhaust on it.
The camper I tow is maximum of 6800. As you all know they dont weigh that because it's not packed full....The weight of it is around 5900.
The max towing on the truck is around 7400.
Once again the truck does good but it loses some of the power going up the hills.
