While driving my 2000 F250XLT yesterday it just started sputtering and lost all power when I came to a stoplight and the service engine soon light came on. There was a strong smell of unburned diesel coming from the exhaust. I pulled over and shut the engine down and waited a couple seconds and restarted the engine and it started right up and the service engine soon light went out. The truck did this a few more times and I went through the same process and it was able to get me to the dealership. I got a recall notice for the CPS and they said they'd replace it for free.
Just got a call from Ford and they installed my new CPS, he said the one I had in the truck was the older style and they replaced it free of charge.
The guy was kind of a nut and when I asked about my truck, he said they sold it (kidding, of course) but he also mentioned it was still "running like crap" I don't know if he was joking or not.
Is there any other problems with the symptoms I described earlier that my truck could have besides the cam position sensor ?
