dome lights need modified

Spent the last 3 out of 6 weekends camping and really need to fix this dome light issue. Anybody had luck putting in a switch to separately turn off the dome lights? really zaps the battery with the lift gate being open and the kids in and out all the time. I found a thread talking about the passenger kick panel with a black and blue wire, but I looked on mine and no luck.

You searched for "Dome light override"? There's a few different ways to switch the dome lights.

About 2 months ago I finally got tired of this problem also and fixed it with the switch. I did have to dig in the wires under the passenger kick panel area to find that black with blue tracer, but it was there. I added a switch on the top center panel between the rear vent switches and looks good and functions excellent. I just did a reboot on my computer this last weekend, so don't have any of the links, but here is a picture of the switch location.
