Need Help with 2000 fuel issue
First one, when I go to start it cold or after sitting a short time, I have to cycle the key off and on at least 3 times before it will start. It will turn over but will only fire up when I do the above. Once it starts it idles just fine.
Second, when it does start it wont take fuel and rev up, cold or hot especially, unless I very slowly ease into the pedal then it will rev up just fine. If I try to hit the pedal real fast it will just bogg down and sputter. Now when I tried to drive it, it wont hardly run because it's trying to pull itself but bogging completely down to almost killing it. Can stop, put in park or neutral and slowly ease into pedal to max rpm. At upper rpm engine is smooth and a powerhouse, no misses or anything. Took breather loose at body and manually throttle up and same issue. Sprayed cleaner in and got better with cleaner but back to same issue after cleaner burns out. For some reason it's only when you try to throttle quickly or take off when driving.
Finally got it to go down the road and it ran perfect for 2 miles until I turned around then would not run again, barely got back home.
Changed fuel filter and plugs but still no difference. Added additive to fuel plus 10gal fresh gas in case fuel was bad. Ran codes and only code is P0113 (IAT) temp high. Would this be causing all the headache or is there another problem I'm just not seeing.
The second issue, clean the MAF, and report back. The IAT is taken from the MAF, at least in my '01 it is. It could be a bad MAF but most likely it has something stuck to it or it's just plain cruddy
