Thanks HAVI ; Maybe I should have ask this different, has anybody used a frame from those years. I placed the cab and front clip my old 79 F150 s. cab just to see how it fit, Which is to long . The steering gear will be a little tuff to connect to but no big job . the body sat on the frame good but the front tires were outside the fenders more than I like. I need to find out if the twin I-beam axle was wider in 79 than lets say 72 ? I believe the F-100 wheelbase was 115 in. and the 51 F-1 is 114 in. , I can make that part work. I am not going for the high boy or on the ground look , just somthing more like original.
